Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

Alfalfa, also called lucerne, is a perennial flowering plant in the legume family Fabaceae. It was long prized for its superior content of vitamins, minerals, and protein. Alfalfa is a part of the legume family, but it’s also considered an herb. It has a long history of use as a medicinal herb for humans.

Its seeds or dried leaves can be taken as a supplement, or the seeds can be sprouted and eaten in the form of alfalfa sprouts. They are typically a fair source of vitamin K and also contain many other nutrients, including vitamin C, copper, manganese, and folate.

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica)

Amla also known as Indian gooseberry or amla deciduous tree of the family Phyllanthaceae . These fruits contain high amounts of ascorbic acid (vitamin C),The fruit is nearly spherical, light greenish-yellow, quite smooth and hard on appearance, The taste of Indian emblic is sour, bitter and astringent, and it is quite fibrous. Amla is native to the subtropical South Asian countries of India.

Gymnema is a perennial woody vine native to Asia Common names include gymnema, Australian cowplant, and Periploca of the woods, and the Hindi term gurmar, which means "sugar destroyer". The leaves and extracts contain gymnemic acids, the major bioactive constituents that interact with taste receptors on the tongue to temporarily suppress the taste of sweetness. The plant is a climber with leaves having soft hairs on the upper surface. The leaves are elongated-oval in shape. Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)

Haritaki is commonly known as black- or chebulic myrobalan, is a species of Terminalia, native to india. In India, it is known as Harad and Haritaki. It belongs to family combrataceae. This tree yields smallish, ribbed and nut-like yellow to orange-brown in colour fruits which are picked and well dried in shade for a few days, with moisture content not more than 10%.

It has enjoyed the prime place among medicinal herbs in India since ancient times. It is an important ingredient of ‘triphala’, an Ayurvedic formulation used in the treatment of constipation, colic pain and kidney dysfunctions, eye diseases, and sore throat.
